Volunteering at Cornerstone

At Cornerstone Word of Life Church, we understand and appreciate the value of the Ministry of Helps. We believe it is a scripturally valid ministry (I Cor. 12:28) and often faithfulness in this area is a prerequisite with God for other types of ministry (Luke 16:12). As a helps minister you are laying up treasure in heaven (Matt. 6:20), but it is also beneficial here on earth as it will give you an opportunity to get to know in depth other believers who are a part of our church family.

We have many opportunities for you to get involved here at Cornerstone Word of Life and we would be delighted to see where you might fit in. You are valuable to us and we are so glad you are a part of our church family.

DESCRIPTIONS OF MINISTRY AREAS

Angel Food/Outreach

Assist with pick up, packing, and handing out food and praying with patrons.

Audio Technician

Set-up and run the sound board during regular or special services. (TRAINING REQUIRED)

Bookstore

Assist people with purchases in the bookstore.

Care Team

Follow-up on members and regular attendees who haven’t been in attendance in a while.

CATCH Team

Welcome guests on their first visit and accompany them to Pastors Meet-n-Greet.

Children’s Church

Ministering the Word of God to our children from grades 1-6.

Custodian

Assist in weekly cleaning of the church and other buildings.

Hospitality

Helping in all aspects with fellowships and other types of social gatherings.

RENEW Women’s Ministry

Work with the leader of the Ladies Ministry and help with the meetings and events.

Maintenance

Assist with the upkeep of the church buildings and grounds.

Media Duplication

Fill orders for people who request copies of services. (TRAINING REQUIRED)

Men’s Ministry

Work with the leaders of the Men’s Ministry and help with the meetings and events.

Music (instrument/vocal)

Minister with the Praise & Worship team, choir and orchestra in services.

Nursery

Ministering to the babies (Birth to 3yrs) with basic childcare and teaching the Word.

Outreach:

Evangelistic crusades or events to reach people in our community.

Prayer Groups

Various small groups providing prayer support for different areas of the church.

Publications

Help with the creation, printing and mailing of newsletters and other printed media.

Television

Help run cameras, record and edit weekly TV show, and run mixer. (TRAINING REQUIRED)

Usher

Assist with seating for services, parking lot, greeting people and altar care for prayer lines.

Video

Put up the song lyrics, weekly announcements, and scripture on projectors during services

Volunteer Office Help

Answer phones; help with day to day duties related to the function of the office.

Youth

Assist on Wednesday nights with service and other youth events.

Young Adult Ministry

Work with the leaders of the Young Adult Ministry and help with the meetings and events.
