Get God’s Joy

Jeremiah 15:16 (NKJV) Your words were found, and I ate them, and Your Word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by Your name, o Lord god of hosts.

I am going to be a helper of your joy today. Joy comes from God's Word.  The joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10).  If you and I are not full of God's joy, we will not have God's strength.  If you don't have God's joy and strength, then you won't be able to keep what God has given you.  You and I need joy to hold fast to what God has given us.  What is joy?  I can tell you what it is by telling you what it is not.  It is not a feeling; that is happiness, which comes and goes with circumstances.  Joy is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.  It comes from Him.  It is a spiritual force.  Our joy level is a detector of our faith level; with joy, we draw from the wells of our salvation.  We receive the end of our salvation and what we are believing for with joy unspeakable and full of glory (1 Peter 1:8-9).  You and I need God's joy, so how do we get it?

Psalm 119:162 says, "I rejoice at Thy Word, as one that findeth great spoil." Jeremiah 15:16 says, "Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by Thy Name, Lord God of hosts."  The Word of God produces joy.  People who have revelation of God's Word are not sour or sad people.  People of faith shouldn't look like they have sucked on lemons all day.  We should be full of joy because we know what the Word of God says about us and our situation.  When we find our answer in the Word of God, it brings joy and rejoicing to our souls.  The Word of God produces faith; and faith produces joy and peace.  Romans 15:13 (AMPC) says, "May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope."

The Word of God will produce joy in your life when it is revelation to you, and you believe it and act upon it!

Another thing that produces God's joy in our lives is His very presence.  Psalm 16:11 (AMPC) says, “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore.”  When you get into the presence of God, one of the things manifested to you is His joy.  You can experience it!  His joy will come upon you; and since His presence is always in you, you can stir up the joy that is on the inside of you.  Jesus said, "Out of your belly will flow rivers of living water," (John 7:38).  I know that the living water has joy in it, and it will flow right out of your belly (spirit).

Get God’s joy today. Get it from His Word.  Get it from His presence. Sometimes, I just laugh on purpose.  It is just like singing.  Sometimes, I don't feel like doing it, sometimes, it doesn't sound good, and sometimes, it isn't convenient, but I make a joyful noise to the Lord anyway.  Sometimes, I don't feel like laughing, but I say, "Ha-ha," anyway.  Sometimes, the circumstances do not warrant a laugh, but at famine and destruction I will laugh (Ha-ha).  When I begin to exercise and stir up joy on the inside of me, the Spirit of God takes hold with me, and life gets altogether better!  Come on, give me a big HA-HA-HA!
