CONFIDENCE
1 John 3:21 (AMPC) And beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God.
Today, we must have a strong confidence in our God. The plan of the enemy is to keep you from this very important place in God. If you don't have confidence in and before God, you won't hold on to your faith and then, you will find it hard to boldly approach the Throne Room of Grace in your time of need. The plan of the devil is to constantly try to erode your confidence in God and in His Word. One of the main avenues the devil uses is condemnation. In 1 John 3:21 (AMPC) it says, "And, beloved, if our consciences (our hearts) do not accuse us [if they do not make us feel guilty and condemn us], we have confidence (complete assurance and boldness) before God." The devil will try to keep you in condemnation because he knows it robs you of your confidence before God.
The cure for this confidence problem is clearly found in the Word of God. What we need is a revelation of the blood of Jesus and what that blood has done for us. Hebrews 10:19 says, "Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus." Both Hebrews 9:14 and 10:22 lets us know that the blood of Jesus purges and cleanses a guilty or condemned conscience. When we get our conscience free from condemnation, it is then, by the blood, based on our knowledge that it has cleansed us from all unrighteousness, we can boldly enter the Throne Room of God. In the Throne Room we can receive all the grace and mercy we need for any situation that has arisen in our lives. The devil tries to keep you out, but a revelation of the blood of Jesus will put you right in front of the Father so you can get what you need.
Another revelation we need so we can walk in the confidence that the Lord has provided for us is to know we have been made righteous. Proverbs 28:1 tells us this very thing, "The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion." The righteous are bold and confident before God and the devil. 2 Corinthians 5:21 says that you have been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus; and because of what Jesus did and He being the Lord of your life, righteousness has now been given to you. Knowing your righteousness and boldly confessing, “I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus," will cause you to be confident. A revelation of your righteousness will cause you to be bold and confident!
As I close, I am reminded of David. He had confidence before God and the enemy. He didn't look at the giant and feel less than. He looked to God and felt more than adequate to handle the problem standing in front of him. In other words, the enemy tried to make him feel inadequate; but because he was confident before God, he was more than ready for the challenge of this enemy. David's confidence was in God and so is yours! He was up for the challenge and so are you! He won and so will you!
