Lay Hold of Eternal Life

There is only one way for us to really change our lives forever and that is to obtain eternal life. Eternal life does not begin when someone gets to Heaven, but eternal life begins when someone is born again. Make no mistake, every human being is going to exist forever; but only those who believe on Jesus and his resurrection will have eternal life. John 3:15 says, “That whosever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.” Paul tells us in I Timothy 6:12 to lay hold of eternal life. The first step is to be born again; then you must hold fast to your new position in the realm of the Spirit. You are now part of the Kingdom of God. You were once living in darkness, but now you are living in the light.

Since you have been born again, you are part of the kingdom of God, you are a citizen of Heaven. You and I are told to seek first the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom of God, God’s ways of doing things, must become our new priority. Just like natural kingdoms or countries have laws so does the Kingdom of God. You and I can now operate in the law of the Spirit of life (Romans 8:2). The law of liberty is also available to every born-again believer (James 1:25). The Law of giving and receiving will work for you in a very powerful way as well (Phil. 4:15). As you learn the laws of the Kingdom of God and walk in them, you will be laying hold of eternal life.

You can clearly see when you know and abide by these laws that the benefits of the laws of eternal life will be evident to all who look at our lives; so, you can see how important it is to realize that eternal life is not just for Heaven. I encourage you to meditate on and lay hold of your eternal life.
