Heaven On Earth

If someone were to ask me what are the top ten things you wished someone would have taught you about the Word of God when you were first born again, I would now have a list.  I love lists.  They keep everything organized so I thought of the first ten things I would have wanted to know and for me #3 is “Who caused that?”  That is a question we all want answered.  So many people don’t really know why things happen.  They say why did God cause that earthquake, that war, that tornado, or let that person die in a car accident?  Did God Really let or allow those things?

To get started, we must understand God is in a class all by Himself.  Isaiah 40:18 says, “To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto Him?”  Jesus boldly proclaims that He alone is the first and the last, the Alpha and the Omega.  There is no other God, no not one.  We have a Father that stands in a class all by Himself.  The devil is not opposite of God.  In order for something or someone to be opposite they have to be coequal.  God has no equal.  The devil is a created being who fell from God when Iniquity was found in him.  He is not equal with God.  He never has been and he never will be, and as a matter of fact Jesus destroyed him and made a show of him openly (Col. 2:15).

In order to understand why things happened or who caused it, we have to go back to the beginning and see that God gave the earth to men.  He gave Adam total authority over the earth (Gen. 1:26-28).  In Psalms 115:16 it says, “The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord’s: but the earth hath He given to the children of men.”  But then you all know what happened.  Adam gave his authority over to the devil when they sinned and ate from the tree.  Now Satan is the God of this world.  Jesus called Satan the Prince of the power of the air (John 16:11).   II Corinthians 4:4 says Satan is the God of this world.  That starts to bring clarity because our Heavenly Father is not currently in charge over the earth.  He gave it to Adam who gave it to the devil.  The good news is Jesus came and won it back but only for those who are born again.  So, when a disaster happens we now know it didn’t come from our God; it came from the god of this world or came because men make choices without the direction of the Lord.

What do I mean when I say men make choices?  God has given us a great gift that came be very misused.  That is the gift of the free will or free choice.  Duet. 30:19-20 says it very clear that God set before us life and death and He told us to choose life.  You and I have to choose.  We choose all day long every day.   Our lives are made up of all the choices we have made.  Even when things are out of our control come to us, we still choose how to respond.  Our choices cause things to happen.  So, it seems very clear to me that our choices, and the fact that Satan is the god of this world, show us from where the bad things come.  Jesus cleared it up for all eternity when He said in John 10:10 that the thief is the one who steals, kills and destroys, but I have come that you might have life.  Every good thing comes from God (James 1:17).  So, every bad thing comes from the devil or from wrong choices we make.

Jesus prayed, “Father your will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.”   I believe Father heard Jesus when He prayed and so Heaven on Earth is available.  If you and I would realize that God wants Heaven on Earth for each one of us, we would pray and believe that Heaven comes to Earth.  Realizing that the devil is causing bad things on Earth and he is our enemy, we must use our authority to bring what God wants to the Earth.  He has restored it back to us.  Let’s use our authority and influence to change Earth!
