How to Know You Believe You Received
John 15:7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.
It is the will of God that you receive all the promises of God that are yes and Amen in Christ Jesus. How do you receive them, what do you need to know or be refreshed about so you can receive all that the Lord has for you? Today’s scripture is key to walk in faith and receive the promises of God; it says, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.” We have to ask.
The Lord does know what you need, but it seems to be a legal thing. It seems we must ask Him. Matthew 6:8 clearly tells us that even though the Father knows what you need before you ask, you still have to ask. Jesus told us in John 16:23-24 that whatever we ask the Father in the name of Jesus, we would receive it. He told us to ask and receive that our joy would be full. When we ask, we must believe. Jesus told us whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe you receive them and then you will have them (Mark 11:24). I John 5:14-15 tells us that when we ask according to the will of God, which is the Word of God, that God will hear us and then, we will have the petitions we have desired of Him. We need to ask according to the Word of God and believe that we receive when we pray and then, the promise will be ours.
How can you know if you really believed when you prayed? Is it a feeling? What tells us we are in faith? Let me give you a few ways you can tell if you really received when you prayed. One way to tell is by what is coming out of your mouth. Out of the abundance of your heart your mouth will speak (Luke 6:45). Another way is when you are thankful. If you really believe you received it, then that is past tense, so you will be grateful to God; just like Abraham was strong in faith giving glory to God. If you received when you prayed, you will have patience. With faith and patience, we inherit the promises of God. You will also be joyful. The Bible tells us in 1 Peter 1:8-9 that we will rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory receiving the end of our faith. If you really received when you prayed, then you will be at rest. The Word talks about entering into rest in the book of Hebrews. We rest when we know the work is finished. If you really believe God heard you, and you received what you ask for in accordance with the Word of God, then you will truly enter into rest.
Ask, believe, and receive that your joy will be full. Remember, all the promises of God are yes and amen to you!
