The Report of the Lord

Romans 10:16 - But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? 

Isaiah 53:1 says who has believed the report of the Lord and Isaiah 59:1 says it is to him the arm of the Lord is not shortened. In order to get the power of God, you have to believe His report. The report of the Lord was spoken to people. The Lord spoke to His Prophets, and they told the people. The people then had a choice to believe the report of the Lord or reject it. In the same way, the Holy Ghost is saying to believers in the book of Romans that you have a choice to either accept the report of the Lord about who Jesus is and what He has done or reject it. In context, a preacher shares the report of the Lord, so faith comes, but what someone does with that faith is up to them. They can act on it and receive Jesus or the promise of God or they can reject it in unbelief and the power of God will not be available to them to bring theanswer forth. When the gospel is preached, the power becomes available to anyone who will believe.

This scripture is also referenced in John 12:38 in referring to all the miracles the people saw Jesus do and yet, many of them because of the blindness of their heart did not believe that He was the Savior, the Messiah, the Living Son of God. Throughout the Word of God, we see people either believing or not believing the "report of the Lord." When the children of Israel went from bondage in Egypt to the Promised Land, even though they saw the miracles, their bodies healed, the death angel who passed over them, and they walked across the sea on dry ground, they still didn't believe they could possess the Promised Land. Only Joshua and Caleb had another spirit and they truly believed the report of the Lord. In order to receive from the Lord, you must believe His report and know what His report says. Sarah believed the report of the Lord. Jairus believed the report of the Lord. Do you believe the report of the Lord?
