HEALING
Isaiah 53:5 (AMPC) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our guilt and iniquities; the chastisement [needful to obtain] peace and well-being for us was upon Him, and with the stripes [that wounded] Him we are healed and made whole.
I am so grateful that the healing power of God is available to us in the day that we live in. How awesome is it that the Lord wanted our bodies well, healed, and whole? And at the very same time, He took our sins and nailed them to the cross and took stripes on His back so we could be healed. We were given a report of what Jesus would do for us on the cross and now it is up to us to believe it. Isaiah 53:4-5 tells us that report. It boldly declares, "Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him; and with His stripes we are healed." Then, Matthew 8:17 declares the fulfillment of this prophecy about Jesus, "That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses." Jesus clearly took all our sicknesses and diseases upon Himself; and at the same time, bore all our sins.
Our part today is to receive this blessed benefit that the Lord has so graciously provided for us. How do you receive it? You believe it. It can be as easy as getting born again as it says in Romans 10:9-10, "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Believe that the stripes Jesus took on His back (I Peter 2:24) were for your healing. Believe that He was raised from the dead with healing for everyone who would believe (Malachi 4:2). Then, begin to confess that, right out of your mouth. God's Word is just as true for healing as it is about you having an eternal home in Heaven.
I am so grateful Jesus prayed His now famous prayer. In that prayer (The Lord's prayer), He prayed, "Father, your will be done in Earth as it is in Heaven" (Matthew 6:9-13). I believe Jesus gets His prayers answered, don't you? Is there any sickness or disease in Heaven? Absolutely not! Then, that means the will of God for His children on the Earth is for them to be healed and whole. What an awesome God we serve. He purchased our freedom from sin, but He didn't stop there. It wasn't enough for Him. He wanted us healed too. Receive all that God has for you today!
