Vision

Habakkuk 2:2-3 (NASB1995) Then the Lord answered me and said, "Record the vision and inscribe it on tablets, that the one who reads it may run. For the vision is yet for an appointed time; it hastens toward the goal, and it will not fail. Though it tarries, wait for it; for it will certainly come, it will not delay.”

Vision is very important for every person because, as a born-again believer, you don't get to decide your own vision. That will come from God. To live in His perfect will should be one of our highest desires in life. You get His vision for your life by spending time in His written Word and in His presence, so He can download the plan He has for you. Once you get the plan, you should then write it down. If it is not written down, if you can't see it, then you will never be able to run with it. I remember the Lord was very clear with me when He said, "If you can't see it, you will never be able to seize it.”" When I talk about seeing, it is first in the realm of the Spirit that you can see yourself the way God sees you, and you can have and do what God sees you having and doing.

When you write things down, or have a vision board, or whatever you have to do to see it regularly, then you can run with it. Running is an action. We are to daily live by faith; we are to constantly be doing actions in response to the vision the Lord has given us. God's point is that you won't do it daily if you cannot see it. When you see it on a daily basis, then, by faith, you can do what you need to do each day to make the vision come to pass.

This running is for your life, until you take your last breath. When you take your last breath on the Earth, hopefully you will have finished your course. You will have fought the good fight. Sometimes, as life goes on and on, we have a tendency to get off course, to do our own thing; but when we do that, we will find ourselves doing things God didn't ask us to do. We meant to do what God said, but we just didn't immediately do it, we didn't make it a part of our vision. We took what God told us to do as a suggestion instead of the command that it was. The running our race with faith and patience seems to be the hardest thing for most people. It's doing the vision every day. Running towards the mark, the judgment seat, and finishing our course has got to be done daily by living by faith. When the vision seems to take a long time, and it will, we get discouraged. We get sidetracked. We get frustrated. We get weary and even want to give up. We must know that God is not a man that He should lie. If He said this is your end, this is your vision, then we must keep it in front of us and keep running every day, by reminding ourselves daily of what our God-given vision is. That's when the vision for your life, in every area of your life, including what you do for God, your service to Him, your career, your business, your family, and all your life, will come to pass. You will be glad when you keep the vision alive in your heart, and that you read it and ran with it. It is time to run with the vision that God has given us for our lives.
