Laborers to the harvest field

Luke 10:2 Therefore said he unto them, the harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few: pray you therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth laborers into his harvest.

If there has ever been a time when the harvest is great, it is now. The projection for the world population is estimated to be over 8 billion in 2025, and there is no real way to know exactly how many of those are truly born again. Even current statistics, using Christian religion, includes people who are not truly born again. These statistics estimate about 30 to 35% of the world’s population are Christians. In the United States alone, the statistics say that 60 to 65% of the population claim to be of the Christian religion, but we know that there is no way that this many in the USA are born again. The more alarming statistic is that while 40 to 50% of older Americans claim to be Christians, only 22 to 24% of the younger generation claim to be Christians. My point is this, we have a lot of work to do in the USA as well as in the rest of the world. With the world population reaching more than 8 billion and, I believe, the majority of them not knowing Jesus, that means they are alive without a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Many of them, who don’t know Jesus, are right in our own back yard in the USA.

Why am I telling you this? Why give you statistics? Because each of these numbers represent people with eternal destinies. We must pray and ask the Lord to send laborers across the path of people we know and those we don’t know and be willing to be a laborer ourselves. The harvest is the most plenteous that it has ever been, and the Lord is waiting for the precious fruit of the Earth, but it seems God needs us to ask so He can legally move on the hearts of the people who don’t know Him. We can be the laborers for His harvest because we are all ministers of reconciliation with the Word of reconciliation. I ask the Lord to use all who are reading this to send us out into the harvest field to be His laborers and reap His harvest.
