Favor for the righteous

Proverbs 3:33-34 (AMPC) The curse of the Lord is in and on the house of the wicked, but He declares blessed (joyful and favored with blessings) the home of the just and consistently righteous.  Though He scoffs at the scoffers and scorns the scorners, yet He gives His undeserved favor to the low [in rank], the humble, and the afflicted.

Favor is available for those who are righteous.  You are righteous if you are born again.  The moment you received Jesus as Savior, you became righteous.  Righteousness is not earned. It is a free gift that was given to you when you were born again, and it’s this righteous position that qualifies you for the favor of God.  Because you are righteous, God declares that you are favored with blessings.  The Lord blesses the righteous with favor.  Psalm 5:12 says, “For you, Lord, will bless the righteous; with favor will you compass him as with a shield.”  Who gets favor?  The righteous.

The subject of righteousness is so important, and you must know that you are righteous.  If you are going to walk in the favor of God, you must meditate on the truth that God has made you righteous.  Jesus became sin so you could become righteous.  You didn’t do it, and you can't earn it.  You must receive it and grow in the revelation of your righteous position. The more revelation you have of your righteous position, the more it will help you in so many areas, and one of these areas is favor.

The last part of today’s scripture says that God gives undeserved favor to the humble, to those who are being afflicted by the devil and the circumstances of this life.  When we humble ourselves under God’s mighty hand, according to James 4:10, God lifts us up; He exalts us.  When He exalts us, one of the ways He does that is with His favor; and when we have His favor, we also have favor with man.  When we walk in humility, we are submitted to God and can resist the devil and change circumstances.  We will also have favor on us that will give us advantages as we deal with the affairs of life and unfair things that may have happened to us.

Confess favor over your life: “I am righteous, and I have favor with God and man; and because I humble myself under His mighty hand, God exalts me with His favor. “
