John 20:31 (NASB 2020) But these things have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that by believing you may have life in His name.

Have you ever heard the saying, “Life is what you make it.”?  I want to tell you that, really, life is who you make it.  What I mean by that is, when you invite Jesus into your life, you receive His life.  You receive Zoe, the God kind and quality of life.  That is what Jesus said in John 10:10: He came to give us Zoe.  This life that He offers to all mankind is eternal life; it is the God kind of life.  Some people are alive, but they are not living according to God’s kind of life and are still dead in their sins. Have you received Zoe?

The scripture says, “In Him was life; and He was the light of men” (John 1:4).  In Him, and only in Him, is this Zoe life found.  You can’t really be alive without it.  You can exist, but you can’t be alive according to God’s thinking.  I John 5:11-12 (NLT) says, “And this is what God has testified:  He has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.  Whosoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have God’s Son does not have life.”

The only way to get the life of God in you is to believe on Jesus.  John 20:31 says, “But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.”  The Bible teaches us that we should lay hold of eternal life, or grab hold of it (I Timothy 6:12). The Bible even calls this life a law. Romans 8:2 says it is “the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus,” and goes on to say it “has made us free from the law of sin and death.”  Can you see it?  Can you see that everyone has one of these two laws working in their life?  Either the Spirit of life or the law of death.  Which law is working in you?  

When you and I were born again, the law of life came into us.  Ephesians 2:1-6 explains that we were dead and then, when we received Jesus, we were quickened (made alive).  One of the most exciting things to learn is how to walk in the newness of life, the Zoe and eternal life of Jesus Christ.  When you do, some amazing things will happen.  One of those amazing things is that the life of God in you will begin to work on your mortal body.  What does that mean?  It means that the life of God will get on your flesh and bring it into subjection.  Your flesh will be quickened by the Spirit of God.  In context, it is not letting your flesh, your old sin nature, dominate you.  I also believe that the quickening power of God on your body will heal it physically.  It can even keep you looking young!  It is the power and the glory of God.  It quickens and makes alive.  Thank God for the quickening power and the life of God.  Zoe is working in you and on you.  Receive that quickening right now!
