Complete Restoration
Joel 2:25 (NKJV) So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, the crawling locust, the consuming locust, and the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.
Father God shows His love to us by restoration. Of course, it is always best when we, as sons and daughters, realize that everything the Father has is ours but also, that those who have gone away and return to Father’s house are able to receive complete restoration too. The Father’s love is so amazing. It doesn’t just say that you can come back after you have lived in sin. The love of the Father also says, “I will restore you.” And I will say this, if God is willing to restore someone who has walked away from Him, then I know He is willing to restore all things to all of us who are serving Him. Are you ready for complete restoration?
In Joel 2:25, the Word declares that God would restore to us the years that the locust has eaten. In Isaiah 61:1-7, which is what Jesus said about Himself in Luke 4, we see restoration. The old waste places, the former desolations, and the waste cities shall all be restored. The prophet goes on to say that for our shame, we will receive double restoration and everlasting joy! God is into restoration. He loves the acceptable year of the Lord or Jubilee. He is a God who loves for His children to recover all. That is what happened to King David in 1 Samuel 30. When the enemy came and took everything, the Lord told David to go after them and recover all. God has a plan for you to recover all, but He has also given you and I the ability to help others recover what was stolen from them.
Galatians 6:1-2 tells us that, as a spiritual one, the Lord wants to use us to help others recover all. When someone is overtaken in a fault, those of us who are spiritual are supposed to restore them, help them recover from their fall. It is the will of God to restore people. How do we restore them? Pray for them. James 5:16 tells us to pray for one another. We are also supposed to go after them. As a body of believers, if someone falls away, we are supposed to go after this lost sheep. If they fall, we should be there to pick them up because it is not good that someone is alone when they fall (Ecclesiastes 4:10). We are to restore people. You and I have been given the ministry of reconciliation. We show forth the love of God that is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost when we help those that have fallen, when we pick up those who have slipped, and when we restore those who have gone away. It is not only the will of God to restore you, but also the will of God to use you to restore others.
