This is referring to Simon the Sorcerer who got born again and water baptized (Verse 13). Simon was intrigued by the signs and wonders done by Philip, the evangelist, that had caused him and the whole city to turn to God, get saved, and baptized.

It is the will of God that you receive all the promises of God that are yes and Amen in Christ Jesus.  How do you receive them, what do you need to know or be refreshed about so you can receive all that the Lord has for you?

Have you ever heard the saying, “Life is what you make it.”?  I want to tell you that, really, life is who you make it. 

I want perfect peace; don't you? Jesus left us His peace, and that is perfect peace. Why don't more believers walk in this perfect peace? I think this verse tells us why and gives us a key that will help us walk in what Jesus left us.

God has delivered us from everything the devil has sent our way, and now the Father wants to use us to bring deliverance to those we encounter. To help someone else, you must first realize your deliverance and begin to walk in it.

Sometimes, in life, it looks like our dreams have died. The years have gone by, and it just seems like the easiest thing to do is to give up. The good news is that you can rest on this promise, that God will restore to you the years the devil has somehow stolen from you.

The Lord has never taught me how to quit! Spiritually, I really don't know how to tell someone to give up. Even if it looks like defeat, even if it looks like failure, I know somehow, someway, God is going to turn it around if I don't quit.

Vision is very important for every person because, as a born-again believer, you don't get to decide your own vision. That will come from God. To live in His perfect will should be one of our highest desires in life. You get His vision for your life by spending time in His written Word and in His presence, so He can download the plan He has for you.

For the Lord is good and His mercy endures forever!  You could hear them say this and then, the place was filled with the glory of God, which is the power of His goodness in manifestation.

In order for anything to be used properly, you have to find out what the creator of the product intended it to be used for.  I always use the example of an exercise bike because I had one in my bedroom for a short period of time.  This exercise bike was meant for exercise, to burn calories and get me in shape.

The birth of Jesus wasn’t quiet.  It was quite the spectacular show.  Everything God does is supernatural, but not everything is spectacular, but, in this case, Christmas was spectacular.  It started with the angel Gabriel appearing to Mary and then, another angel coming to Joseph in a dream to assure him that what was conceived in Mary was of the Holy Ghost.

Can you imagine a young girl just having her regular day and then, an angel appears and says, “Congratulations!  You are going to be the mother of the Savior of the world,”?  The first thing that Gabriel said to Mary was “Fear not.”  The whole experience had to startle her.

Immanuel means God is with us.  Jesus was born of a virgin whose name was Mary.  You know that, but do you realize the importance of the virgin birth and that without the virgin birth, salvation would not be available?  Mary conceived when the Holy Spirit came upon her.

We have a great example of how to receive the promises of God in Romans, Chapter 4. Abraham, known as the father of our faith, shows us the principles of faith necessary to obtain the promise, even when it seemed naturally impossible.

To be able to boldly stand up and say, "I no longer feel condemned," is huge for most believers…

When should we give up? When should we accept defeat? When is it over?
