The Spirit of God likens our faith to a shield.  The King James Version says, “Above all;” with that, some people believe the shield is the most important of our weapons.

What are the devil’s fiery darts?  These are the devil’s wiles and devices he uses against the believer.   His fiery darts include things like lies, temptations, circumstances he creates to cause doubts, and enticing the lust of our flesh.

The next piece of equipment are shoes.  The Roman soldier wore interesting shoes.  They were both an offensive and defensive weapon. 

The breastplate of righteousness is so important.  What was the breastplate on the Roman soldier for; what was its purpose? 

What is the Spirit of God trying to get us to see in showing us a breastplate?  What was it used for?  It protected all the soldiers’ vital organs.

The loin belt is the written Word of God, or the logos.  The loin belt is the piece of armor that holds all the other armor together.  Without the written Word of God, the rest of the armor has nothing to hold on to. 

The devil comes to steal, kill, and destroy, according to what Jesus said in John 10:10; but you and I are supposed to resist the devil and all that he brings. 

First, don’t get stuck on, “I will put none of these diseases upon you.”

God is able!  There is no problem with His ability or His willingness to deliver to us His promises, which are yes and amen in Christ Jesus.

We have a great example of how to receive the promises of God in Romans, Chapter 4.  Abraham, known as the father of our faith, shows us the principles of faith necessary to obtain the promise, even when it seemed naturally impossible.

Ecclesiastes 1:4 says, “One generation passes away and another one comes.”  That may not sound like much revelation; but when you realize that God deals with generations, as well as individuals, you then realize that it is very important.

There are usually two ditches on any subject and that is true when it comes to your adversary, the devil.  Some people blame everything that goes wrong on the devil, but it is not always the devil doing it.  Sometimes we make bad decisions that cause our problems.
